You and your canine companion will be living a life of luxury in this stunning 19th-century holiday home. The property exudes glamour, with its classical-style architecture, decadent decor, open fires, and opulent soft furnishings. The great hall welcomes you into the accommodation, where you’ll find a roaring open fire and ample space for all your outdoor gear. From here, wander into the grand lounge and sink into the sumptuous seating or head over to the country club-inspired bar area for a little tipple. A separate snug offers a quiet sanctuary to curl up with a good book in front of a cosy open fire. This is also a great space for the woofer to chill out, if all the socialising gets a bit too much. When it comes to evening entertainment, you’ll have plenty of choices, thanks to a plush cinema room and a games room with a vintage pinball machine and karaoke. The chefs amongst the group will revel in the fact there are two stunning kitchens, one of which is a commercial-style space, as well as a huge wine cellar. Gather in the formal dining room for memorable evenings of great food, around a table that comfortably seats everyone (this room can be converted into a conference space if required). Completing the ground floor is a super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The remaining bedrooms are upstairs, and all boast en-suite facilities and exquisite decor. Your four-legged friend will be in their element outside, where vast, enclosed gardens offer ample space to burn off steam. You’ll have a variety of spaces for outdoor entertaining, including a sunny terrace with spectacular views and a pretty pergola for al fresco dining. There’s also a pod, tucked away towards the trees, with a Smart TV, heater, and Wi-Fi.
The picture-postcard village of Cartmel is the perfect setting for a relaxing dog walk, admiring the historic buildings and popping in and out of the independent boutiques and quirky shops. The village is also a haven for foodies, with many fine-dining restaurants and traditional village inns. For a day at the races, head to the paw-friendly Cartmel Racecourse, one of the most picturesque courses in the country. Fill your lungs with sea air with a day trip to Grange-over-Sands (4 miles), where you and the woofer can stroll along the promenade and explore the gorgeous parks and colourful ornamental gardens.
