If your pets (or children) are whimpering at you for a beach day, head to Milford on Sea (9.5 miles) which has two dog-friendly beaches plus wonderful views towards Christchurch Harbour and the Isle of Wight. For a pet-pleasing day out, head to Keyhaven (10 miles) and board the ferry to Hurst, whose Tudor castle you can visit with your faithful friends on leads.
