A wonderful rustic retreat in the picturesque village of Burley, this charming country house sets you up for a wonderful break with your loved ones and furry friends. It’s located within the New Forest, so an excellent base for exploring this spectacular national park with your pets. Burley truly is a hidden gem of the New Forest, with its tea rooms, dog-friendly pubs, cycle hire, gift shops and renowned ice cream parlour. With space for eight guests and three dogs, this holiday home will work well for a multigenerational family trip or a celebratory holiday among friends.

You’ll do much of your socialising in delightful garden dining room, which features a fully glazed roof and doors opening out onto the garden. This is a wonderful space for board games, stargazing or curling up with a book on the comfy sofas. The house also has a separate dining hall, a cosy sitting room with a Smart TV and an open fire for worn-out dogs to doze off next to. Or you can spend time in the charming snug area overlooking the garden. And if the dogs stay still, you might even spot New Forest ponies, deer, cattle and pigs from here. The well-equipped kitchen comes with a gas-fired Aga and ample workspace for meal preparation. In mild weather, the fabulous gardens, which wrap around the house, will really come into their own. Relax on the charming terrace, equipped with plenty of garden furniture for al fresco socialising and dining. While the children and dogs burn off energy having fun, why not stretch out on a sun lounger and enjoy forty winks? It is holiday time, after all!

Nearby, you can visit towns like Brockenhurst (5 miles) and Lyndhurst (7 miles). If your pets (or children) are whimpering at you for a beach day, head to Milford on Sea (9.5 miles) which has two dog-friendly beaches plus wonderful views towards Christchurch Harbour and the Isle of Wight. For a pet-pleasing day out, head to Keyhaven (10 miles) and board the ferry to Hurst, whose Tudor castle you can visit with your faithful friends on leads.
