Set high above the majestic shores of Lake Ullswater, this charming cottage boasts stunning views from every window. Sleeping five guests and one waggy-tailed pal, the property makes the perfect base for those who enjoy getting out and about in nature. You’ll have a choice of dog walks from your front door, including to the summit of the mighty Helvellyn or along the banks of Ullswater.
The pretty cottage has been decorated in a traditional style, with wooden furniture and pretty soft furnishings. Enter into the front porch, which doubles as a little seating area to admire the views, and head into the inviting lounge. This is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day of exploring, with sumptuous seating to sink into and a roaring open fire creating a cosy dozing spot for the pup. A delightful kitchen/diner completes the ground floor, along with a handy utility area for storing dog-walking gear or drying muddy boots. Stairs lead to the first floor and two of the three bedrooms, as well as the family bathroom. The remaining double bedroom is on the second floor and boasts breathtaking views across the lake. Outside, an enclosed, suntrap garden awaits, where you can sip a morning coffee and take in your jaw-dropping surroundings.
From Glenridding (0.5 miles) you and your canine sidekick can board one of the Ullswater Steamers to explore the area from the water. The iconic vessels stop off at various points around the lake, including the must-see beauty spot of Aira Force Waterfall and the chocolate-box village of Pooley Bridge. Those wishing to explore on foot and paw can join the 20-mile Ullswater Way, which circumnavigates the lake. Further afield, Lake District gems such as Keswick and Windermere are within 20 miles.
As the 2nd double room can be noisy with the wind during winter months, this property may be suitable for a party size of 3 from October - March.
