Relax into a rural break at this dog-friendly one-bed cottage in the Cotswolds, a charming spot for a quiet holiday for solo travellers and couples. It’s in Blockley, a peaceful village offering quintessential Cotswold charm with its limestone cottages, winding streets and gorgeous countryside views. Nature lovers will be pleased to discover the many excellent walking routes leaving from the village, ready to be sniffed out with your enthusiastic pet. When you’re finished for the day, sip a refreshing pint of ale in one of the area’s many dog-friendly pubs.

This terraced property is beautifully decorated. With its gentle colour scheme and tasteful artwork on the walls, it feels very much like a home. There’s a cosy open-plan living space with comfy sofas and a Smart TV so you can curl up with a film in the evenings. A wood burner (aka dog magnet) is on hand to keep you all warm during the chillier months. The small dining table sets the scene for romantic dinners or solo feasts you’ve prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. Unwind outside on the patio area, where trees and shrubs create a peaceful haven. The garden is a real suntrap, so your pet can absorb some vitamin D while you enjoy a drink or dinner in the fresh air.

When it’s time to venture out, head to the nearby town of Broadway (5 miles), and climb up to Broadway Tower, an 18th-century folly offering exceptional panoramic vistas across the AONB. Bourton-on-the-Water (10 miles) is another attractive location you can sniff out with your pet, with its traditional stone houses and low bridges straddling the River Windrush.

Well equipped cottage. Lovely and clean. Would stay again. Stairs are slightly steep, but you do expect this in a cottage.

Lovely Cotswold cottage. Owners have thought through every aspect of living there. From the trolley cart for your luggage to the torch & dog towel hung in the porch, all the way up to the cosy bedroom, someone has really thought about every aspect of the furnishings & equipment. Only negative is that car parking is on the public highway, but there Read morewas always plenty of space. Note that the path outside the cottage is on a slope, as is the whole village, so a climb is involved at some stage. Hide
