This impressive farmhouse is full of home comforts and welcomes families and friends, plus a canine companion (who’ll go barking mad for the enclosed garden). From the children’s play area to the master en-suite, everything has been designed to ensure an unforgettable holiday in the beautiful surroundings of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Admire the sweeping vistas of woodland, fields and mountains as you approach this gorgeous property. You’ll enter into the spacious kitchen/diner, where everything necessary is on hand, including an American-style fridge/freezer with an iced-water dispenser, and there’s a dining table for six as well as a sofa and TV where you can relax. After supper you can snuggle up in the lounge, perhaps lighting the wood burner in the winter, and play a movie on the Smart TV. Also on this floor you’ll find a utility room where you can leave coats, boots and canine kit, and a handy WC. On the first floor there are three bedrooms, all with gorgeous views. The king-size room has a beautiful en-suite shower room with his-and-hers basins, while the double and twin (super-king-size on request) share a family bathroom, which has two steps up to a sunken bath. For spending time outdoors there’s a patio for al fresco dining, a fire pit, and a fabulous play area for younger members of your group.
This is a great base for exploring the outdoors. Hire kayaks, canoes or boats at Llangorse Lake, 4.5 miles, or climb Pen y Fan, the highest point in South Wales (park at the Pont ar Daf car park, 14.5 miles). For a gentler walk, try the Brecon Canal, 5.5 miles, and while you’re there explore the Georgian streets of this lovely market town, where you’ll find cafes, restaurants and interesting shops.
