Set in the heart of the Lake District National Park, this charming Grasmere cottage is surrounded by spectacular fell and lakeside walks to explore with your furry pals. The property sleeps four guests and two pups, making it perfect for small families and couples. As well as the glorious walking opportunities on your doorstep, you’ll also be near Lake District highlights such as Windermere and Ambleside (5 miles).
The cottage is decorated in neutral tones and has plenty of creature comforts to make you and the woofers feel at home. The cosy lounge/diner has comfortable seating to relax on after a long walk, and a wood burner for your hairy companions to toast their toes. Set in the corner is a wooden dining table for sharing mealtimes together. Also on the ground floor is a separate kitchen with everything needed for a self-catering break, a double bedroom with views across the garden, and a shower room. The remaining bedroom – a king-size which can be made up as a twin on request – is upstairs. Outside, discover a fully enclosed, split-level garden where four-pawed pals can play on the lawn, whilst you dine alfresco on the sunny patio.
There’s so much to see on a dog walk around Grasmere. Take it in turns to pop into Dove Cottage, the former home of William Wordsworth, sample the delicious Grasmere gingerbread from the bakery, or head out along the water’s edge towards Rydal Caves. Just outside the village, you’ll find beautiful woodland walks at White Moss Woods, as well as a little lakeside beach where the pups can splash in the water, and you can enjoy a picnic. Adventurous hounds can lead the way on a climb to the rocky summit of Helm Crag, which offers spectacular views across the village and surrounding fells.
