Treat your family and your four-legged friends to a luxurious holiday in this five-star stone cottage. You’ll be on the Northumberland coast, surrounded by plenty of fascinating places to explore. Get ready for a holiday for outdoorsy adventurers with this stylish retreat for up to four humans and two hounds as your base.
This property is all on one level. Enter to find a hallway leading to a fabulously equipped kitchen/diner, with a glass patio door which leads to the garden. It’s a great spot for cooking and eating together or packing up picnics. Next, there’s a comfortable lounge, warmed by a wood burner. The whole property has underfloor heating, too. You’ll have two bedrooms, a twin and a flexible room which can either be organised as another twin or super-king-size. The flexible room has charming nautical decor and pops of dark, soothing blue, and the twin room comes with an en-suite shower room. There’s also a family bathroom with a freestanding bath for hot soaks. The garden is lovely, completed by gravel areas, a lawn and a raised patio with a shaded table and chairs. It’s enclosed by a fence so your children and dogs can play safely, and there’s a shed to store outdoor gear.
You’ll be staying in a rural area about 4 miles from the coastal village of Bamburgh. There are some dog-friendly pubs around, or you could grab an ice cream and head to the dog-friendly sandy beach. You can walk along to the Bamburgh Lighthouse (5 miles), a stunning spot with dramatic views and the chance to see wild dolphins. You’ll also be 8.5 miles from Holy Island Causeway, where you can walk to Holy Island. It’s dog friendly, incredibly beautiful, and there are wild seals about, but make sure you’ve checked the tide times before you go.
