Soak up the sea views from the bedroom, terrace or lounge in this spacious and tranquil cottage for a small family of four plus two four-pawed friends. Explore the south coast of Cornwall while staying in the village of Polruan, across the river from the pastel-hued harbourside houses of Fowey.

Inside the cottage, you’ll find a spacious, bright wood and neutral-toned kitchen/diner with a beamed ceiling and views of the harbour from the dining table. The views continue into the lounge, which has a laid-back atmosphere created by the blue tones, textured soft furnishings and coastal-themed art. Continue into the two bedrooms to find a king-size with views of the water and a double. Completing the property is a shower room plus a convenient utility room. Outside is a large patio terrace with furniture and far-reaching sea views.

Stroll around the ancient fishing village of Polruan and sniff out the castle, local pub and convenience shop (all within 0.5 miles). From the village, you can hike along the South West Coast Path along the picturesque clifftops to the secluded National Trust Lantic Bay (2 miles) – which is dog-friendly all year round. You could also catch the ferry from Polruan landing to reach Fowey (1 mile), where you can treat yourself to a seafood dinner or pop into a cafe or art gallery. From here, you could also head west along the coast path past St Catherine’s Castle (1.5 miles), numerous hidden coves and the white and red striped Gribbin Daymarker on Gribbin Head (3 miles).

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 double and 1 king
  • 1 shower room and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, with large fridge in hallway
  • Tassimo coffee machine
  • Utility room with washing machine and freezer

  • Beach, pubs and village shop within 500 metres
  • Arrival: 16:30 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details

Absolutely wonderful house, real home from home. Plenty of space for us and our 2 dogs inside, great garden, really private and the most stunning views, great to watch the boats coming in and out. A comfortable, well equipped and laid-out, property in a great location and with spectacular views of the harbour. We've stayed in many properties in Polruan over the years; this is one of the best.

A beautiful piece of Polruan sat on the hillside. A great little bungalow with amazing views of the harbour and Fowey. Spacious property with a well stocked kitchen. Comfortable furniture and beds too. The location is lovely and quiet, but it does have a steep path to walk up from the harbour. To be fair its a steep walk wherever you are in PolruanRead more. You couldnt tell that any dogs had stayed in the property before our visit.. Holiday Cottage staff were excellent and super friendly. Hide

A lovely part of Cornwall to stay. The property has beautiful views from all windows across the estuary. Its a very hilly area which was a bit of a challenge going down to the little ferry to Fowey. Very nice property with all home comforts. Beds clean and comfy. The only drawback was the bathroom could have been cleaner.

Beautiful bungalow with fantastic views over the harbour. Not a lot in Polruan but easy access to Fowey. Great food at The Luggers Inn.

we had a great holiday - apart from the awful weather (not the fault of the cottage owner) however not much to do with to dogs in the rain. the property is on a very steep hill, both ways - ie going up to the car park and going down to the village, if you are not fairly fit you will struggle

Great place to stay, fantastic views. You need to be good at walking up hills and steps. But well worth the effort when you see the views!

The positive is the wonderful location and superb views down the Fowey Estuary. The cottage is homely and very suitable for a holiday let, although it might struggle with more than a couple staying, as there were fairly limited numbers of mugs and such. There was a gap in the fencing mesh opposite the front door, which the dogs found straight away Read moreand through which they could get as far as the wall and drop to the footpath. We put a chair across it to block it. Lovely location. Hide
