Soak up the sea views from the bedroom, terrace or lounge in this spacious and tranquil cottage for a small family of four plus two four-pawed friends. Explore the south coast of Cornwall while staying in the village of Polruan, across the river from the pastel-hued harbourside houses of Fowey.
Inside the cottage, you’ll find a spacious, bright wood and neutral-toned kitchen/diner with a beamed ceiling and views of the harbour from the dining table. The views continue into the lounge, which has a laid-back atmosphere created by the blue tones, textured soft furnishings and coastal-themed art. Continue into the two bedrooms to find a king-size with views of the water and a double. Completing the property is a shower room plus a convenient utility room. Outside is a large patio terrace with furniture and far-reaching sea views.
Stroll around the ancient fishing village of Polruan and sniff out the castle, local pub and convenience shop (all within 0.5 miles). From the village, you can hike along the South West Coast Path along the picturesque clifftops to the secluded National Trust Lantic Bay (2 miles) – which is dog-friendly all year round. You could also catch the ferry from Polruan landing to reach Fowey (1 mile), where you can treat yourself to a seafood dinner or pop into a cafe or art gallery. From here, you could also head west along the coast path past St Catherine’s Castle (1.5 miles), numerous hidden coves and the white and red striped Gribbin Daymarker on Gribbin Head (3 miles).
