Five guests and two dogs are welcome to enjoy a memory-making retreat in this beautiful Herefordshire village, staying in an old chapel that’s been converted to the highest standard. Man and dog alike will find something to go mutts for when crossing the threshold into this fabulous property, whether it’s the cosy lounge with space to put feet (and paws) up or the generously appointed garden, fully enclosed for your furry friend’s freedom and security. A real dog-walkers paradise, the property is surrounded by ample routes and pathways for days filled with walkies and boasts a sumptuous free-standing bath to soak in after a long day of hiking.
With plenty of original features restored and a calming pastel colour scheme installed throughout, this chapel property really is a joy to call your own. You can stop off on the porch to give muddy paws and wipe down before stepping into the spacious kitchen/diner. This is a great spot for placing your pet’s beds and bowls, complete with plenty of room and a wood burner to keep it cosy in even the coldest of months. You’ll also find the lounge and shower room on this floor. Heading upstairs, two separate staircases lead up to three-bedroom options. Finally, step outside into the rear courtyard to fire up the BBQ or dine alfresco whilst your doggos explore freely.
An optimal place to stay with a dog, the village of Yarpole is calm, quiet and boasts a country pub that welcomes pets. From here, take a short walk up to Croft Castle (1.5 miles), a National Trust-maintained estate where pets can join you in exploring the gardens and surrounding parkland. You’ll also find the banks of the River Lung nearby (3 miles) for the chance to let Fido chase wildlife along a scenic waterfront route.
