Escape the slow hum of daily life and go on an adventure to this rural, romantic location in South Wales. This cosy barn enjoys far-reaching views across the countryside, homely touches throughout, and plenty of space for you and your small pup to sprawl out after long days of trekking.

Set within the grounds of the owner’s home but with guaranteed privacy, this quaint cottage offers everything you could possibly need for a week in the countryside. Plump seating, exposed beams and vaulted ceilings provide a truly rustic experience, which is a welcome treat after lengthy climbs in the Welsh countryside. Serve up your pup’s dinner and then begin preparing a romantic meal for two in the well-equipped kitchen. This is a lovely space to whip up any treasured dishes, while the breakfast bar serves as both a dining table and a spot for playing rounds of cards. Once Buddy is settled in for the night, a hallway leads to a beautiful double bedroom and shower room. Savour your countryside setting by spending time in the small garden – there’s a small, grassed area for Buddy to snooze while you unwind in front of the sunset.

Explore the village of Llanhennock, which is handily situated right on your doorstep. Take your furry friend for their morning walkies along the River Usk, or make the 2.5-mile walk to Caerleon, a vibrant market town offering dog-friendly pubs, stunning views and endless tales of history. Your canine friends can help you adventure through the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and the Black Mountains, which are all available within 15 miles.
