Situated in the market town of Dolgellau, at the foot of the Cadair Idris mountain range, this four-storey holiday property is ideal for large groups or extended families, plus two four-pawed friends. Full of period features, it has high-ceilinged rooms and an enclosed garden.
Hang your dogs’ leads in the boot room and head down the tiled hallway of this elegant house to the kitchen, a well-designed space with all the equipment you’ll need for easy holiday cooking, plus a breakfast table for two. It’s open plan (with a small step down) to a snug with a wood-burner-effect electric fire, comfy seating and a Smart TV. The ornate dining room seats 12 at two tables, and features another wood-burner-effect electric fire. After supper, head into the lounge, another welcoming space in which sofas and chairs are gathered around a wood burner and a TV/DVD, or perhaps down to the basement games room for a snooker challenge. The six spacious and comfortable bedrooms are on the first and second floors: two king-size, with oriel windows and feature fireplaces, two twins, and two doubles (which each have an additional single bed). There are two beautiful bathrooms, one with a magnificent, free-standing bath, plus a stylish shower room and two additional, separate WCs. Outside, the paved garden is a lovely spot in which to enjoy the sunshine with a good book and a cup of tea.
The town centre is around 300m away, and here you’ll find an array of boutique shops and a choice of places to eat and drink. There are walks at all levels of difficulty nearby, including the famous Mawddach Trail, and for a day at the seaside the long, golden sands of Barmouth Beach are just 8 miles away.
