An idyllic property set in the undulating countryside just outside the village of Hornby and 6 miles from Richmond, one of the most vibrant market towns found between the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. Featuring a welcoming lounge, spacious country kitchen and south-facing patio, it is well-suited to families or groups of friends keen to escape to a rural bolthole to do as much or as little as possible with their beloved dogs in tow.

Situated in private grounds and accessed via a narrow farm track, this functional single-storey property combines traditional furnishings with modern conveniences, each room glowing in the natural light that pours in from all directions. Enter via the spacious entrance porch and find your way into the lounge, complete with a wood burner and grand piano - the perfect place to relax at the day’s end. The country-style kitchen/diner has its own AGA, and there is a handy laundry room to the side. Three individually-styled, neatly-presented bedrooms await when it's time to call it a night: a king-size bedroom with access to a Jack and Jill bathroom; an en-suite super-king-size bedroom; and a double bedroom. The south-facing patio looks out onto stunning countryside, with plenty of room for investigative dogs to sniff about.

Hornby (1 mile) sits between the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, national parks boasting a wealth of natural and historic attractions and landmarks, along with quaint market towns and endless walking and cycling routes. Hornby has an impressive 13th castle, while the cobbled streets and squares of Northallerton, Leyburn and Richmond (all within 8.5 miles) are home to independent shops, parks and dog-friendly pubs and cafes.

Lovely place, saw a barn owl most nights, and a herd of deer on the way out. Super bakery in Bedale. The dog loved the run of the paddock.

The Kennels is the most lovely house in a beautiful location. There is a south facing terrace with a variety of seats to enjoy sitting out. The house works really well inside and the bedrooms are spacious and welcoming. We will definitely come back.

In a quiet and peaceful country lane, this property provided an ideal base for three generations of our family and their dog. It is spacious, welcoming and comfortable, the kitchen and bathrooms are well equipped and user friendly. The secure paddock was ideal for the dog to stretch his legs and the location enabled us to easily meet up with familyRead more in Teeside, visit Seaham on the coast as well as Fountains Abbey, Studley Royal Water Garden, Aysgarth Falls and Stockeld Park, Wetherby.
