This fantastic property, situated in the peaceful village of Surfleet on the banks of the River Glen, is the perfect relaxing bolthole for couples, small families or groups of friends that would never dream of leaving the pups behind. Sleeping four across two comfortable bedrooms with space for up to two dogs to snooze, you won’t want to leave this stunning riverside cottage. But when you can tear yourself away, make sure you go for walkies along the riverbank to visit the 12th-century St Laurence Church (0.5 miles) or one of the dog-friendly pubs in Surfleet.
The property welcomes you through beautiful bi-fold doors into a perfectly-decorated open-plan living area. Bold interiors and industrial-style touches give the space a contemporary yet homely feel. Cook up a storm in the large kitchen and eat a sociable meal at the dining table or head outside to dine alfresco among river views – watch dogs and children out here as the river flows right past the patio! Get comfy on the gorgeous sofas by the bi-fold doors and light the wood burner, the pups curled up by your feet, or head to the vibrant snug to watch TV or read your favourite book.
Go for a leisurely stroll around the grounds of Grimsthorpe Castle Park (17 miles), though your pup will have to wait outside the formal gardens; the National Trust’s Belton House (26.5 miles) also welcomes dogs in the grounds and you may find doggy ice cream in the cafe! Go for a family afternoon out at Railworld Wildlife Haven in Peterborough (23.5 miles) where classic locomotives sit among a lovely wildlife habitat. And if it’s a beach you’re after, let the pups unleash it all at Skegness (33 miles) where they’re welcome all year except for a small part in the summer.
