Toast marshmallows over the fire pit, soak in the hot tub or simply listen to the birdsong as you relax in this tranquil shepherd’s hut. Carefully crafted to the highest quality, this gorgeous couple’s getaway is located in beautiful countryside where you can walk, cycle, golf or get out on the water in a raft or canoe.
Climb the stairs to the front door of this adorable hut where your furry friend is welcome, too. You can cook up a tasty supper in the compact kitchen, which boasts an electric oven, two-ring hob, ceramic sink and fridge with freezer compartment (don’t forget ice for your g&t!). The dining table folds away once you’ve eaten to create extra room in which to relax and watch the Freesat TV or listen the radio in front of the wood-burner-effect electric fire. At the far end of the open-plan space, curtains conceal a double bed with storage beneath, and completing the interior is a stylish shower room. If you decide to dine on the raised deck outside you’ll appreciate the stunning views over the garden, fields and river as you grill something delicious on the BBQ. After a soak in the wood-fired hot tub you might stroll across to the gravelled area, where there are sun loungers and a picnic table around a fire pit. There’s bike storage and fishing for salmon and more here, too.
In the small town of Chirk you’ll find a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, and there are some great dog walks in the estate at the National Trust’s Chirk Castle, 3.5 miles. In fact, great walks of all kinds are plentiful in this area, while at Llangollen, 8 miles, you can explore the shops, admire the aqueduct and even book a horse-drawn boat trip along the canal.
