Book a romantic trip for two at this delightful cottage in the Scottish Borders. It’s located in Denholm, a small traditional village with dog-friendly pubs, shops and a restaurant all within a mile of the property. The inside is wonderfully decorated with printed soft furnishings and lovely colour schemes, for a homely and welcoming atmosphere. On arrival, look forward to discovering your welcome pack which includes treats for your four-legged companion – that’s how much dogs are loved here!

The single-level accommodation has a cosy open-plan living area with an attractive country kitchen along one wall, a lounge area plus a dining space. On chilly evenings, stoke up the wood burner to create a welcome snooze spot for your pet, then sink into the cosy sofa as you relax with a glass of wine and good conversation. Every room is pleasing to the eye, including the double bedroom which is decked out in plush bed linen to ensure your comfort. Out the front, you’ll have an peaceful enclosed garden with shrubs and a gravel floor. Your pet will be safe roaming freely here while you sip your morning coffee in the fresh air.

You’ll find plenty of walking opportunities nearby, perhaps heading up to the curiously named Fatlips Castle (2 miles) where there’s a pleasant route through farmland and woodland. The views across the Teviot Valley are lovely from the top. The town of Hawick (4.5 miles), famous for its knitwear and colourful history, is a lovely option for a day out, perhaps incorporating a visit to St. Leonard's Park (7 miles) for a doggie run-around.

Walking into the cottage all I could say was wow. So much thought has gone into the decor and furnishings, they are beautiful. The place was spotless including drawers and cupboards. And the welcome packs for both furry friends & their owners were on another level. I didn't need to unpack Nancys bed or bowls as everything was there!! The bed was soRead more comfy, too. I had to force myself to get up. I didn't need to light the log burner as the cottage was well heated. Perfect thank you Hide

A fantastic cottage, which is really well appointed. The location is great - the perfect base from which to explore The Borders. Warm and cosy, The Old Post Office was a delight to return to after a day out. We particularly appreciated the generous welcome baskets, especially the one for our pooch.
