You’ll find plenty of walking opportunities nearby, perhaps heading up to the curiously named Fatlips Castle (2 miles) where there’s a pleasant route through farmland and woodland. The views across the Teviot Valley are lovely from the top. The town of Hawick (4.5 miles), famous for its knitwear and colourful history, is a lovely option for a day out, perhaps incorporating a visit to St. Leonard's Park (7 miles) for a doggie run-around.
