A delightful cottage for two in the pretty village of Barbon is the perfect romantic hideaway for two. There’s also a warm welcome for a four-legged friend and infants under the age of two. The cosy stone property has a gorgeous, suntrap patio with a sunken hot tub and is fully enclosed, with plenty of space for pets and tots. Barbon has a fine 17th-century pub serving food and a shop with a cafe and delicatessen. Set in the lovely Lune Valley, the village is ideally placed for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and central Lake District.
This welcoming holiday home is beautifully furnished. The bright, open-plan living space comprises comfortable seating, a pretty dining area and a wood burner set in a characterful stone fireplace. The country-chic kitchen is a vibrant blue and the colour theme continues upstairs in the luxurious king-size bedroom. This room has a separate dressing area, and a sumptuous bathroom next door boasts a clawfoot rolltop bath, plus a walk-in shower. There are two sets of patio furniture: one immediately outside the French doors from the living area, the other on the decking.
Enjoy a stroll with your canine companion along the Barbon Beck, which flows alongside the village. Paths lead through woodland and past waterfalls, with grassy areas creating an ideal spot for picnics and paddling. Bustling Kirkby Lonsdale (4 miles) has a weekly country and community market where you can snap up local produce and craft works. Visit the scenic Devil’s Bridge, just 0.5 miles from the town. The magnificent medieval bridge spanning the River Lune is another great place for a picnic and the start of lovely riverside walks. Climb the nearby 438-metre Barbon Fell for spectacular views and discover Dent (7.5 miles), one of the loveliest Dales villages.
