  • The perfect Cornish retreat for families and couples wanting some fresh air and sea side enjoyment with a furry friend!
  • Relax on the huge terrace with panoramic estuary views
Property code: 91396

Sleeping four in two bedrooms, this delightful cottage is nestled within historic Polruan, with easy access to Fowey and beyond. Enjoy beautiful views over the estuary from inside and out, relax in front of the wood burner or soak in the freestanding bath in the double bedroom.

Step into this welcoming property and upstairs into its elegant lounge, from which you can enjoy views of the water, cuddle up by the wood burner (furry friend at your feet) and watch a movie on the Smart TV. The dining room has a wooden dining table for six as well as a pretty dresser, and the kitchen is well equipped, including that all-important coffee machine. On the first floor, the double bedroom has the benefit of an en-suite WC and a freestanding bath within the room itself - ideal for some bubbles and chill-out time. The twin bedroom boasts dual-aspect windows and views down the street to the water, and there’s also a family bathroom with a drench shower. For fresh air and alfresco meals, head down the steps from the dining room to find a patio terrace set over different levels, outdoor furniture and a summerhouse. Here you can appreciate the fabulous views across the estuary.

When you’ve wandered the steeply sloping streets and steps of Polruan, which has a couple of pubs, a village store and cafe, hop on the passenger ferry across to the chic coastal town of Fowey, home to a variety of excellent eateries, pubs, galleries and boutique shops. From the top of the village you can follow the coast path on a mile-long hike to Lantic Bay and its dog-friendly, sandy beach, or walk up to the car park at the top of the village and drive out to the Eden Project, 15.5 miles.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 double 1 3ft twin (can be made up as a super-king on request)
  • 2 bathrooms - 1 shower room with waterfall shower and WC , 1 freestanding bath in double bedroom and 1 ensuite WC

  • Shop, pubs and beach less than a mile away Polruan is a quaint little village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.
  • Many of the amenities, ferries and cottages in Polruan are accessed via steps/ slopes some of which can be steep. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.

The position of the cottage was great with amazing views. There was an excellent local food store, two cafes with one being a bakers as well and all sold good value products. The two pubs were really good and everyone was very friendly. It'd thoroughly recommend this cottage X

Lovely location, perfect for walking the coast path and .catching the ferry to Fowey. Loved the morning dog walk to St Saviours Hill with it's amazing views. Well equipped comfortable cottage and enjoyed evenings sitting in the garden watching the boats on the estuary.

The cottage could be amazing, however we were really let down and disappointed by the standard on arrival. It felt cold.

Bigger than expected and nicely furnished, Diamond Cottage exceeded our expectations. We were fortunate with the weather and made the most of trips of foot and by boat to Readymoney Cove for swimming plus canoeing straight off Polruan Harbour in mid September. We were bowled over by how welcoming, friendly and helpful everyone in Polruan is - it's Read morea very special place and we'd love to return again soon. Hide
