This stylish property, overlooking the pretty village of Youlgreave, is the perfect romantic bolthole for two – and your pups, of course! Sleeping you both in a beautiful king-size bedroom with space for up to two dogs, this property is ideal to use as a base to explore Derbyshire and the Peak District. Bakewell (5.5 miles) is notoriously dog friendly; sample an authentic Bakewell pudding or a local beer at Thornbridge Brewery (6 miles), or go for a stroll around the grounds of Chatsworth House (8 miles).
The holiday home, which is set in an old coach house, is laid out in a bright and airy open-plan style with large roof windows and neutral interiors. The kitchen area has everything you need to cook up a storm and eat at the contemporary dining table, while a comfortable sofa invites you to snuggle up together and watch a film on the TV while the dogs snooze at your feet. At bedtime, get cosy in the tranquil bedroom; wake up to fantastic views of rolling hills and head outside to the seating area with your morning coffee to take in more views and let the pups stretch their legs – though the area is unenclosed.
Take a bracing walk up to the top of Mam Tor (19 miles) where you’ll experience breathtaking views of the Hope Valley. Nearby, Peveril Castle (16.5 miles) welcomes dogs inside these old Norman ruins; there are plenty of dog-friendly pubs in Castleton to go for a hearty lunch in afterwards. Go for walkies around Hardwick Hall (21 miles) where the pups will enjoy sniffing around the woodland, or take a leisurely ride on the Peak Rail Heritage Line (5.5 miles) where you’ll travel through beautiful countryside and can stop for a bite at one of the cafes in Matlock.
