Enjoy gorgeous views of mountains and countryside from this year-round getaway for friends or families plus a canine companion. Close to Bala and the attractions of South Snowdonia, it offers walks from the front door and a cosy welcome when you return, with a fabulous kitchen/diner warmed by a wood burner.
A steep drive sweeps you up to this imposing stone cottage. Once inside, you’ll find an airy kitchen/diner with a farmhouse-style table next to a wood burner - a gorgeous space in which to gather together. The kitchen itself has plenty of space (pop your faithful friend’s bowl down on its tiled floor) and a dishwasher. There’s also a utility room with a washing machine and second fridge, and a handy ground-floor bathroom. When you want to relax, head for the cosy snug, the lounge with its wood burner or the games room with a football table - they all have comfy seating and Smart TVs. At bedtime, head up the stairs in the games room or the lounge, passing the books on the landing ‘library’, to the three bedrooms, two king-size and a twin, all of which have exposed beams, sloping ceilings and wonderful views. On this level there’s also a family shower room. The enclosed garden has loungers to make the most of the sun, plus a BBQ and outdoor dining furniture for alfresco meals.
About 2 miles away, Bala offers a range of cafes, pubs and shops, as well as the largest natural lake in Wales, renowned for water sports, sailing and fishing. From here, the narrow-gauge Bala Lake Railway offers a delightful 9-mile return journey alongside the lake through the spectacular Snowdonia National Park. For walkers, hikers and climbers, the Aran and Arenig mountain ranges offer 27 summits of more than 2,000’ between them.
