Enjoy a peaceful break with your loved ones at this lovely second-floor apartment in the charming Northumbrian village of Shilbottle. Sleeping four people over two bedrooms and welcoming one canine companion, this stylish retreat is ideal for families or groups of friends who want to explore Northumberland’s stunning coastline with their pup by their side. During the day, visit Alnmouth – an exceptionally-pretty coastal village with a long, sandy, dog-friendly beach - and in the evening, come home to relax in the cosy living room while you enjoy a glass of wine and admire the breathtaking country views from the picture window.
Step through the communal front door and make your way upstairs to your apartment. Take a moment to make yourself at home in the spacious lounge before heading to the stylish kitchen/diner to unleash your inner chef. Enjoy a sociable dinner with your nearest-and-dearest in the dining area before sinking into a sofa in the lounge to relax in front of the TV while your pup snoozes at your feet. Alternatively, make use of the telescope in the living room to do a little star-spotting. At the end of the day, there are two beautifully-styled bedrooms to choose from.
Take your dog for a walk along the long sandy beach at Alnmouth (4.5 miles), which welcomes dogs all year round. Afterwards, treat yourself to a well-earned drink at one of the village’s dog-friendly pubs and cafes. From Alnmouth, you can take your pup on a journey on Aln Valley Railway to Alnwick, where you can see the castle where the Harry Potter movies were filmed. Or take your pup for walkies at Barrow Burn Woods (27.5 miles) – a beautiful ancient woodland where you have a good chance of spotting badgers, otters and cuckoos.
