Set tails wagging with a trip to this beautiful, five-star property, consisting of a cottage and an adjacent lodge. It’s an incredible find, great for a group of friends and couples who want to explore the New Forest, enjoy beach days, or stretch out in a private swimming pool. Bring everyone, including your dogs, and get ready to have a ball.

Downstairs in the main cottage, you’ll find a large lounge to relax in after you arrive with large windows overlooking the garden. As the evenings draw in, make use of the open fire to create a cosy ambience. There’s a big kitchen/diner with space for everyone to enjoy meals together. You’ll also see a games room kitted out with table football and ping pong, and a utility room which leads to the garden. The property has four bedrooms, all situated upstairs. Three are king-size and the master bedroom has a super-king-size bed and an en-suite shower room. In the adjacent lodge, there is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room, and a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Head to the garden for an outdoor seating area, a separate garden dining table, a hot tub and a private swimming pool for everyone to enjoy. This is surrounded by lawns, hedges and sun loungers. Perhaps the first thing you’d like to do on holiday is jump straight into the water!

When you’ve soaked up all the sun at the cottage, take a day trip to Bournemouth, 11 miles away. Alternatively, trade swimming in the pool for paddling on the beach and visit Hengistbury Head Beach (7.5 miles), which welcomes dogs and their humans. As you’re in the New Forest, you should see some excellent trees, and the Blackwater Arboretum is the perfect spot to do this.

Great location for us near Lymington. Some bed and H and S criticisms but the heated pool and hot tub were great hits with everyone. Spacious garden. Parking/turning awkward. Good dining room and lounge but we had to have the bath tap set replaced as broken. This should have been seen and reported before we had to.

We spent a fabulous week at Ashdale cottage The swimming pool and hot tub were amazing to have We had mixed weather but sitting in front of the fire in the evening was such a luxury

Lovely property in an excellent location, near to such a wide breadth of activities. Unfortunately, it appeared to us that it hadnt seen any work or upkeep or tlc since last summer.

Very clean and comfortable and well equipped. Loved the big beds, open fire and hot tub. The games room was a brilliant extra too. Also really liked the under floor heating in the kitchen. We never quite learnt the art of the aga though! Beautiful location with lots to do locally.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ashdale Cottage. The house was beautiful, clean and had all the necessary equipment for a lovely holiday with friends. Definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful location. We really enjoyed our stay. If you have dogs, the gate is VERY difficult to open and close - but the property is secure otherwise. The jacuzzi is nice but old and needs updating. The pool is super and the grounds are lovely. The games room is very well stocked for children. The outside patio is perfect on a sunny day. A wonderful cottage for a brilliant family holiday. We didnt have the best weather but it didnt matter with the heated pool, hot tub and games room. The house is well equipped and beautifully furnished. We would definitely recommend and would love to come back next year.

Had a fabulous multi generational holiday. Swimming pool and hot tub were used every day. House had plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 children. Garden was peaceful and spacious, lots of seating areas. We could walk onto the forest from opposite the front gate to see the ponies and countryside. WiFi was good, had to go in the garden to make a call Read morethough. We ate outside at the large table, only one meal indoors at the big kitchen table. We had a lovely break. Fabulous location right on the edge of the National Park with direct access over the lane. Perfect for dog walking and pony spotting.
