Surround yourself in country charm at this idyllic cottage perched on top of the green, rolling hills of the Llanover Estate in Monmouthshire. Sleeping six people over three bedrooms and welcoming one canine companion, this is a wonderful accommodation option for families or groups of friends who yearn to explore the natural wonders of the Brecon Beacons with their pup in tow. During the day, take your dog for walkies at the beautiful Grade II-listed Llanover Garden, and in the evening come home to unwind in front of a cottage’s crackling wood burner as your pup stretches out to sleep by your feet.
Step inside this charming cottage and you’ll find yourself in an impressive lobby. Originally a cowshed, today it’s the perfect place to store all of your dog-walking gear. Head through to the living room and take a moment to appreciate the original oak panelling as you sit by the wood burner. When it’s time to eat, head to the kitchen and take in the amazing country views while you cook, before hosting a cosy dinner in front of the wood burner in the dining room. Alternatively, head out onto the south-facing balcony, fire up the charcoal BBQ and dine alfresco. After dinner, relax with your loved ones in the lounge, or take a little time out alone in the snug/study. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find three generously-sized bedrooms upstairs.
Take your pup for a stroll the historic Goytre Wharf (2.5 miles). Your pup is welcome in the cafe there, so order yourself a coffee and spend a little time watching the colourful barges float by. Alternatively, go for walkies through the gorgeous walled garden at Llanover Garden (1.5 miles).
