This gorgeous property, situated in a charming village between Coventry and Northampton, is perfect for you and your guests – including the canine family member! Sleeping six over three peaceful bedrooms, this converted barn is an opportunity to get out and explore the Northamptonshire countryside while still being close to a major city and town. Go for walkies down the woodland trails in Badby Woods (3 miles) before heading back to the dog-friendly pub less than 350 metres from your front door.
The cottage has retained many original features from its time as a barn. The open-plan living area boasts exposed beams and a beautiful fireplace that surrounds a cosy wood burner; we’re sure the pup will love to curl up in front of it! Painted stone walls are dotted throughout, including in the bedrooms and kitchen; cook up a storm in this bright and airy farmhouse-style space and eat at the dining table that lies at one end. Outside, the dog can stretch their legs while you enjoy an al fresco drink before heading to bed. The two first-floor bedrooms each have their own staircase and benefit from vaulted ceilings and exposed beams; just watch your head in the eaves!
Head to Daventry Country Park (3.5 miles) for a family day out; kids will love the adventure playground while the pup may prefer sniffing around the sensory garden. Dogs and well-behaved humans are welcome for a ride on the Northampton and Lamport Railway (17.5 miles) which runs alongside the Brampton Valley Way. Stroll the grounds at Canons Ashby (11 miles) where you’ll find water bowls dotted about along with an outdoor tap for thirsty pups. Further afield but a must-see for Shakespeare fans, Stratford-upon-Avon (29.5 miles) has plenty of dog-friendly cafes and shops that celebrate the life of the Bard.
