Dine on the patio or snuggle by the wood burner - this high-quality holiday home works for all seasons, and would suit couples and families, plus two furry friends, looking for a chic and comfortable rural escape. It’s located in the lovely village of Motcombe, within easy reach of Dorset’s many fabulous attractions.
The sociable, open-plan layout of this beautifully designed and welcoming home is a real treat. At the far end of the light-filled main room is an attractive Shaker-style kitchen area, with built-in appliances and a dining table for four, leading on to a pretty lounge with a sofa and armchairs around a wood burner. For a cosy evening, head into the adjacent snug, where there’s a Smart TV and corner sofa. Upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms, each of which has a delightful Juliet balcony so as to make the most of the rural views. One is king-size with a Smart TV and an en-suite shower room, and the other is a twin with 2’6” beds which can, on request, be converted to a king-size bed. Completing the interior is an elegant contemporary bathroom. Outside, the enclosed patio garden is the perfect spot to grill something delicious on the BBQ and dine in the fresh air while enjoying the views of fields and woodland.
Motcombe has a friendly pub and a shop, while in 2 miles you can be in Shaftesbury, one of the oldest and highest towns in England, boasting independent shops, great pubs and a range of places to eat. From the town there are spectacular views over Thomas Hardy’s Blackmore Vale, and the incredibly steep Gold Hill (of Hovis advert fame) is worth a visit. Within 25 miles you can reach Longleat, Stourhead, Haynes Motor Museum and the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Bath.
