A gorgeous lodge in the village of Finghall, within 4.5 miles of the bustling market town of Leyburn, which enjoys far-reaching views of Wensleydale. Featuring open-plan living areas, two generously-sized bedrooms and an enclosed garden, this homely property is well-suited to small families seeking an idyllic rural bolthole, with easy access to attractions across The Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The single-storey lodge offers guests style, sophistication and functionality, with plenty of space for little ones on four and two paws. With spectacular views from every window, the lodge is a comfortable space you’ll look forward to returning to after an active day out. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area is full of modern conveniences and is a wonderful place to relax (the dining table can be converted into both a ping pong or snooker table) not least in summer when its large patio doors are thrown open. Two generously-sized bedrooms - a super-king-size bedroom with plenty of storage and a single bedroom with a pull-out bed - stand just off this area, as does a characterful family bathroom perfect for long, invigorating soaks. The enclosed garden features a small lawned area and a decked area with stunning views of Wensleydale, especially from the hot tub. There is even a chance to say hello to Shetland ponies in a neighbouring paddock.

Finghall’s dog-friendly village pub is 200 metres away from the cottage, as are a host of scenic footpaths perfect for long walks. Four-footed passengers are welcome to hop aboard the heritage steam trains that puff their way from the village through attractive countryside towards Leyburn (4.5 miles), a market town that welcomes canine customers. The area is blessed with other dog-friendly market towns including Bedale (6.5 miles), Richmond (10 miles) and Northallerton (14 miles).

Well equipped property in a beautiful part of the country. Lovely to end the day with a soak in the hot tub. The property is in walking distance of a fantastic pub and there is loads to do in the surrounding area. Ideal place to get away to and relax.

Had a very enjoyable stay here last week. The property is in a very good spot if want to travel around the Dales. Property was very nice with big bedrooms and bathroom, plus a choice of outdoor areas to sit in. Is also very private, neighbours are some horses! It is by the side of a road though so it's not complete peace and quiet if that's what yoRead moreu're after as cars go by regularly. But it is private, so you can't see them nor can they see in. Lovely cabin in a great setting, very clean and well equipped. The communication with owner was good ,but if your dogs are not happy with horse's the 3 acre field is a no go but some great walks on the door step and a perfect village pub.

Beautiful lodge, furnished and equipped to a high standard, in a great location for visits to surrounding villages. Great views from hot tub and convenient field/grassed area for pets. Only down-side was the heating was kept on a timer so we couldn't access it ourselves. We had sub-zero temperatures all week and heavy snowfall and it was off from mRead moreid-morning until around 3.30pm. Owner suggested bio ethanol fire but it didn't give out much heat at all and the fuel is expensive. Hide

The cottage was well equipped but I do feel it was very over priced. The location is nice but still set at the road side and used by heavy vehicles. Which you don't see when looking at the pictures. We were asked if we wanted to do early check in for 25 which covered the heating and cleaning apparently. The chalet was freezing on arrival (December Read morebooking) tried contact the owner and they said it was set to come on at 3:30pm everyday. The guests have no control over the heating! Not good!
