One of a cluster of pretty properties, this stunning stone house is an idyllic base for a big group getaway. You’ll feel at home the moment you step into the entrance hall, where in true country style there’s space for coats, walking boots and dog blankets. Head through the all-glass doorway and you’ll be in the main lounge, where a choice of seating and a Smart TV sit below a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams. The warm timber tones flow into the dining room, where a handcrafted table sets the scene for stimulating conversations over meals served fresh from the adjacent farmhouse kitchen. A small hallway from the kitchen gives access to a handy shower room and utility room. If any of your party want to spend time away from the bigger group, there is also a cosy snug with reclining sofas, a wood burner and another Smart TV. The versatility offered by this property extends to its sleeping arrangements, with a staircase leading from the dining room to a mezzanine-level king-size bedroom with a glass balustrade, en-suite shower room and Juliet balcony with countryside views. On the first floor, there are three further bedrooms: a twin, a king-size with dual-aspect windows, and a super-king-size room which can be made up as a twin on request. Completing the comfortable setting is a bright, beautiful family bathroom. Enjoy fresh air and the sounds of the countryside as the dogs sniff out the garden – there’s a good-sized lawn area plus a patio with furniture and some lovely views of the river which flows beside the meadow just across the lane.
Just 6 miles south-west of the Cornwall/Devon border, the hamlet of Newbridge is ideal for waggy-tailed walks – enjoy strolls from your doorstep alongside the River Lynher, or wander through the woods to the National Trust’s Cadson Bury Hill Fort. You’ll find local pubs and shops in the small town of Callington, a couple of miles away, while ancient Liskeard sits on the edge of Bodmin Moor, 6 miles in the opposite direction. Once here, you can take a 9-mile train ride on the pet-friendly Looe Valley Line to the popular fishing town of Looe. Alternatively, drive 10 miles to Downderry Beach where the dogs can stretch their legs while you explore rock pools or snorkel out to the wreck of Gypsy, sister ship to the Cutty Sark that’s hidden under a kelp bed not far from the shoreline.
