Nestled within 400 acres of unspoiled working farmland, this glorious cottage in the Peak District is perfect for families of four and their two waggy-tailed friends. Enjoy leisurely strolls around Carsington Water, spend quality time with your pups on the waymarked footpaths, or stay close to home and feed the alpacas in the grounds.
Clean off muddy boots and paws and relax in your spacious lounge/kitchen. With its exposed stone walls and original beams, this makes for a cosy space for happy hounds and their lovable owners. Watch TV in here while your contented canine snoozes on the rug below your feet. Dish up memorable eats in the adjoining kitchen, where a feature window gives a nod to the history of the property. Enjoy a post-dinner dip in the wonderful hot tub at the front of the cottage, where relaxing is most definitely on the cards. When heads start to nod, turn to one of two pretty bedrooms, where a restful space ensures a great night’s sleep. When you wake up fully rested, let the pups out into the courtyard to do their morning stretches while the kids bounce around on the trampoline.
Make the most of being on a working farm by visiting the various farmyard animals and helping out with feeding time. Clip on the leads and from the doorstep, join the footpath that passes onto Carsington Water, where breathtaking views, water sports and events offer a great day out for all the family. Alternatively, visit Brassington (2 miles), an attractive limestone village set within a remote corner of Derbyshire. Wind through little streets to find the dog-friendly pub, where something fizzy and a bowl of water can be found. To go further afield, jump in the car and drive to Cromford, Matlock Bath, Bakewell and Buxton, all of which are within 20 miles of the cottage.
