This fantastic property, situated in a peaceful location in the village of Allithwaite, is ideal for families or groups of friends that would never dream of leaving their faithful friends in kennels. Sleeping eight across four gorgeous bedrooms and with a dedicated area for up to two dogs to snooze, this converted village hall is an opportunity to get out and see the best of the Lake District with all your favourite people. Head for walkies at Fell Foot Park (9.5 miles) among spectacular mountain views, or even take a paddleboard or kayak into Lake Windermere.
The holiday home has a wonderful bright and airy feel with a perfect blend of the traditional and the contemporary. Vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and large windows makes the open-plan living area a delightful place to relax in, day or night. Snuggle up on the sofa in front of the stunning stone wall and wood burner, your pups curled up by your feet. Retreat to the cosy lounge with a good book for a bit of time away, or head up to one of the tranquil bedrooms; one has an amazing Juliet balcony to take in the beautiful living space below.
No trip to the Lake District is complete without getting onto the water, so head to Windermere Lake Cruises (16 miles) where you can take a leisurely boat ride – dogs are welcome on board for free. They also go free on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway (7.5 miles) which will be a hit with kids too. If it’s walks you’re here for, the coast paths around the Cartmel Peninsula (3.5 miles) are not to be missed, while Grizedale Forest (15.5 miles) has trails for all abilities as well as Go Ape for zip trekking, segways and more.
