The whole family will have a ball at this beautiful rural retreat. With four bedrooms – one of them a ground-floor en-suite – it offers stylish space for a party of eight and two four-pawed pals. After busy days exploring Somerset’s coast and countryside, children and pets can let off steam in a large lawned area while the grown-ups chill out in the hot tub. Surrounded by fields, this handsome country home with wonderful views of the Mendip Hills provides the perfect bolthole for your entire holiday pack.

Step inside and a creamy colour palette flows throughout, creating a warm ambience which welcomes you into a dining room with beams, a wood burner and a central table. Just a few paw prints away, the adjacent kitchen is sure to be a hive of activity, with everything you need for effortless self-catering and a door into the courtyard. When it’s time to unwind, wander down to the lounge, which has a choice of seating and a Smart TV. Once the dogs are dreaming and it’s time to take to your own bed, there’s a king-size zip-and-link bedroom with its own Smart TV and en-suite bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs, is a king-size bedroom with beautiful bay window views. Close by is the family bathroom and just down the hall to the right is a twin bedroom also boasting a large bay window. A second king-size bedroom with a Smart TV and glorious countryside views completes the accommodation. For sniffs of fresh country air, step into the private courtyard at the rear of the property; after dark, sit back in the bubbling hot tub beneath starry skies. To counter-balance all that laidback leisure time, at the front of the house is a large lawned area complete with a football goal and plenty of space for your four-legged friends to chase a ball.

Your holiday home is on the edge of the village of Puxton, with an Avon Wildlife Trust reserve just 200 metres from your doorstep. Puxton Park, 3 miles away, is an all-weather attraction to keep children entertained, while Cheddar Gorge (9 miles) guarantees waggy-tailed walks in an iconic landscape. If sandy paws are a holiday must-have, Weston-Super-Mare Beach (9 miles) has year-round dog-friendly zones and close to the southern end of the promenade, the charming Clarence Park has an area where dogs can be exercised off-lead.

What an amazing stay we had. Fantastic facilities and stunning location ideal for long walks with the dog. We enjoyed the hottub and the enclosed garden was just the ticket for our lab. Very clean, with top spec decoration. We will love to return.

We were a group of work colleagues in their comfortable years on our annual catch up reunion. House was perfect; lovely decor, warm, & comfy beds. Kitchen, everything we needed to cook for 6, & the chilled bubbly from the owner a lovely surprise. The wood burner was a very cosy treat after a long walk in the cold. The hot tub was great, perfectly wRead morearm although we definitely didnt do classy very well in our bobble hats! Owner met us on arrival & was very helpful. Would book again. Hide

We really enjoyed our stay, Goose Acre Farm is beautiful and the outside space is great. All 7 of us were very comfortable, and it was accessible for my disabled mother as there is a downstairs bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Hot tub was lovely and the garden area is great for kids. Lovely spacious cottage, was well equipped. We had 4 generations of family and we all loved it. Everyone loved the hot tub. The cottage is not far from various locations. Just wished we had booked for another week. Lots of places we want to visit in the area. Will definitely book again.
