This delightful escape for a couple, two friends or solo traveller boasts spacious and stylish rooms and an enclosed garden for your canine companion. After a day exploring the nearby scenic walks, pretty towns and sandy beaches, you can relax in the garden and enjoy lovely views and the sound of nothing but birdsong.

This detached house has been beautifully converted and combines traditional stone and brick with huge windows that allow light to flood in. Hang up your lead in the hall and head to the kitchen/diner, which has everything you’ll need for creating delicious meals. Enjoy the views of the garden as you eat. After supper you can get cosy by the wood-burner-effect electric fire in the lounge, and enjoy a movie on the Smart TV, with your pup by your feet. The shower room is also on the ground floor and, at bedtime, you can head upstairs and choose between a spacious king-size room with a TV or a double bedroom. The house is set on the edge of the owners’ 1-acre garden (though your privacy is ensured), and has a private deck with a BBQ, fire pit and outdoor dining furniture. If you want to eat alfresco or simply sit back and relish the views, this is the perfect spot.

Located in the lovely hamlet of Cyffylliog, the cottage is less than 500m from the local pub and 3 miles from the historic market town of Ruthin, which is renowned for its excellent crafts centre as well as a Victorian gaol and a variety of independent shops and cafes. At the Llyn Brenig reservoir and visitor centre, 9.5 miles, you have more than 2,500 acres of forest, moorland and lakes to explore, and its cafe has a balcony where furry friends are welcome.

Gorgeous remote location - only 4 miles from Ruthin and groceries etc. Lovely walks in every direction. The coast, Snowdonia & Llangollen all easy to get to and endless walks to explore. Ruthin and Denbigh both lovely towns and everything you need is just 4 miles away. Village pub is a two minute walk and v welcoming. Paul next door is happy to shaRead morere ideas for visits and walks etc. House & walks perfect for the dog. Spotlessly clean and comfy. Wifi good. Would 100% recommend. Hide

We had a lovely, peaceful stay in this cottage. The bedrooms were beautiful, although it took us to hunt around to find where to hang our clothes. The beds were unbelievably comfortable and consequently had the best nights sleep for a long time. In terms of cleanliness it couldn't be faulted and the kitchen was adequate for a short term stay. The lRead moreocal pub served wonderful Punjabi food and was a very short walk to the cottage. Would recommend this cottage for a short restful break. Hide

Had a great weeks stay in The Retreat, lovely peaceful, clean property. Beds were very comfy & slept so well. The owner was very friendly & informative of the area etc lots of maps in the property to use if you like walking. Local area easy to walk around with the local pub a short distance from the property . We had a delicious curry at The Red LiRead moreon. Ruthin only a short drive with lots of amenities & eateries. One tip dont always follow your Sat nav itll take you to tiny tiny roads! Hide

Lovely property and very peaceful setting in middle of a tiny village. We had a lovely stay and it is clean tidy and modern. The property and garden is dog friendly but be aware dogs are not allowed upstairs. Property had no curtains in any of the bedrooms at the time of our visit and with the floor to ceiling window in the main bedroom it meant anRead more early wake up.
