Welcome to this striking medieval hall house set in the village of Dunster on the fringes of the magnificent Dartmoor National Park. This characterful abode is the perfect base for a family reunion or gathering with friends with a couple of tufty-pawed members in tow. Get tails wagging as you amble alongside the River Avill and spot the local otters and kingfishers at the Dunster Castle and Watermill, then get lunch sizzling on the BBQ in your cobbled courtyard.

Dating to 1371 AD, this property is brimming with traditional charm and retains many of its original features. Step inside and admire the stone fireplaces, oak wall panelling, and exposed beams. Pad through the cross passage to the inviting lounge area, flop down on the sofas or stretch out weary paws by the crackling wood burner. Steal some peace in the cosy snug and settle in with a film on the Smart TV or curl up with a book. Step up to the diner and plan your holiday itinerary perched at the wooden table or assist the resident chef in whipping up a hearty feast for the pack in the country kitchen with flagstone flooring – a beautiful blend of contemporary design and rustic style. There is also a handy utility room for sprucing up any mucky pups. Ascend the staircase to discover four bedrooms on the first floor accessed via various cottage-style stairs, including a double, an en-suite king-size, a second king-size, and a twin. Fido will have a ball exploring the courtyard and sloped garden while you sip your morning brew. Outdoor enthusiasts can securely store gear in the original stable.

Enjoy an afternoon saunter to the Dunster Mill House, 200 metres, then bound along the idyllic bridleways and sniff out the intriguing medieval architecture on the Gallox Bridge Loop. Discover the best local watering hole for a post-adventure round with the hound, within 100 metres, or venture beachside to Minehead, 3 miles, where your four-pawed pals can feel the wind in their fur as they scamper along the sandy shoreline.

Spent a brilliant weekend at Fairview. All the facilities were great, really clean and well equipped. The owners were really helpful and lovely, allowing my friend to set up a surprise Afternoon Tea for my arrival for my birthday!! Would definitely stay here again!

A beautiful cottage, full of comfort and character. We managed to park 3 cars on the street in front of the house, so that was no problem at all. Some great pubs and restaurants in the village - more than enough to satisfy our needs. Martin was a great host - friendly, helpful and with some great tips. Perfect all round!

Cosy, comfortable cottage. Full of character and atmosphere located in a quaint village. An abundance of beautiful shops, cafes, restaurants and friendly pubs. The castle and its grounds are well worth a visit. Had a wonderful New Year in Dunster!

Amazing house. We were a group of 6 and there was plenty of room for us all. The kitchen was really well equipped. At no point did we think if only we had this or that.
