Take your four-legged friend, human friends or family away for a fun holiday at this sweet cottage, just 3 miles from Port Isaac on the main road between Padstow and Tintagel. It has a cosy wood burner, a courtyard with seating, a BBQ and sea views. The canine-friendly property makes a great base for exploring the Cornish coast, enjoying beach trips and water sports, and visiting local towns – and it’s close to the local pub.
The charming cottage combines traditional features and contemporary touches. Step inside the inviting lounge, with wooden beams, comfy sofas, a TV and DVD, and a wood burner in the stone fireplace that your pup will love. The smart kitchen/diner has contemporary fittings and space to prepare tasty meals that you can enjoy together at the rustic dining table, which is next to the back door to the courtyard. Up the cottage-style stairs (with a stairgate at the top) are the two welcoming bedrooms: a master double room, with lovely views from the wall of windows, and a TV, and the cosy twin room with lovely wooden beams. There is also a family shower room. On warm days, sit outside in the enclosed rear courtyard and enjoy the sea views with a drink and nibbles at the table.
Explore the harbour in the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac, home to the ITV series Doc Martin and Fisherman’s Friends (3 miles). From there, you can wander along the South West Coast Path with your pup east for 0.5 miles to Port Gaverne, or west for 2 miles to Port Quin. Visit Padstow and eat out at one of the town’s fantastic restaurants (17 miles), hire a bike and cycle the Camel Trail, and discover the famous legends of Tintagel Castle (7.5 miles).
