This hillside cottage boasts a peaceful location on the beautiful Cowal Peninsula. It’s the ideal bolthole for friends and family looking to switch off and escape the humdrum of everyday life. The property is located on Argyll’s ‘secret coast’, and you’ll have a plethora of quiet beaches, coast paths, and woodlands at your paws and fingertips. After a long dog walk, return to your cosy retreat to snuggle by the roaring wood burner.
The cottage has a home-away-from-home feel and is decorated in a traditional style with pretty soft furnishings and accessories. Once inside, stairs lead up to the open-plan living area, where you can stretch out on the sofas to watch TV whilst the pups warm their paws by the wood burner. A couple of steps lead up to the kitchen/diner and a large table for sharing mealtimes together. A bright and airy double bedroom, plus the family bathroom, complete this level. Heading back downstairs, you’ll find a bunk bedroom and a single bedroom, along with a handy shower room. Outside, ample space for children and four-pawed visitors to play.
Tighnabruaich is one of Scotland’s hidden gems. The pretty village has a lovely selection of paw-friendly eateries, as well as cute galleries and local shops. The area is awash with picturesque walking trails, taking you through the surrounding hills and glens and along the rugged coastline. Long-distance, waymarked trails include the Loch Lomond and Cowal Way. If Rover and Fido like to feel the sand between their toes, head to the magnificent Kilbride Bay (6 miles). This stunning, crescent-shaped beach welcomes dogs all year and boasts spectacular views of the Isle of Arran.
