This quaint shepherd’s hut, complete with its own hot tub, is deceptively large and spacious and provides enough room for a small family or a small group of friends, plus a beloved pet dog. All guests, dogs very much included, will be bowled over by the peace and tranquillity of the hut’s location – on the edge of the town of Moffat. Moffat, as well as the wider surrounding area, provides a large selection of walks or bike trails making this very much a destination for a holiday spent outdoors.
The hut is within the grounds of a country mansion, and once you have got to the front door, you’ll enter straight into the open-plan living area. It’s here that you can relax in the lounge, or eat at the table with enough space for all guests. The kitchen area has everything you need to make delicious meals with no trouble, before you retire either to the hot tub outside, or one of the two bedrooms, made up of a double and a twin. Each room shares the charming family shower room. Outside, the hut has its own patio area featuring a picnic bench and other patio furniture. Sit and unwind in the hot tub on clear nights to stargaze a little.
Moffat is a popular town thanks to its quirky shops and friendly pubs, amongst many other eateries. Many of the characterful pubs, in particular, will welcome you with a great drinks menu, and an ear scratch or treat for any dogs. There’s also a golf course there, as well as a park with a boating lake and putting green. Guests also often head to Grey Mare’s Tail Nature Reserve as it has some stunning waterfalls.
