Known as the Outdoors Capital of Wales, Rhayader (3 miles) has a range of great shops and places to eat and drink, and is ideally placed with the Cambrian Mountains (7.5 miles) and Claerwen Dam to the south-west (13 miles). Dogs are welcome to help you explore the nearby Gilfach Nature Reserve (2.5 miles), or you can head to the popular Elan Valley Visitor Centre (7 miles) before exploring the awe-inspiring reservoirs and dams themselves. Llandrindod Wells (14 miles) is a friendly town with some fantastic pubs and restaurants.
