This delightful, whitewashed cottage lies at the entrance of the Martnaham Nature Reserve in Ayrshire. It is ideal for a couple, a family or a small group of friends with up to two canine companions looking for a peaceful holiday surrounded by pretty Ayrshire countryside. Let your pups lead the way at the beautiful Rozelle Estate (5 miles), with miles of grassed areas and woodland where no stick will be left unfetched.

Step inside this charming cottage which has light and airy tones throughout. The kitchen and dining area features a contemporary kitchen with everything you need to create memorable meals, and on a sunny day, you can open the French door out to the decking. Follow the hall to the large lounge and sink into the leather armchairs or sofa - the perfect place to relax in the evenings. Four paws will bag a favourite spot, and on chilly evenings, it will probably be next to the wood burner for a snooze while you enjoy a favourite film on TV or listen to music. When it is time to rest, there are two spacious bedrooms: one double and one twin. The cottage boasts two bathrooms, including one with a Jacuzzi bath. Outside, the enclosed garden has a grassed area that is safe for your pups to run around. A decking area faces south to catch the sun and panoramic views of the hills beyond. A hot tub provides the perfect place to stargaze on clear nights, and a charcoal BBQ and seating area make a lovely spot for al fresco dining. Enjoy the views across the loch from a small seating area on the left-hand side of the drive.

The championship golf courses at Turnberry, Prestwick, and Royal Troon, are all within 13 miles. Alternatively, visit historic castles and houses, including Culzean, Dumfries House, and Dean, all dog-friendly and all within 15 miles. Poetry and history enthusiasts will love Alloway (5 miles), the birthplace of Robert Burns and the setting for his poems, whilst beach enthusiasts and sea dogs can head to Ayr (6 miles) where the beaches welcome paw prints all year round.

Fantastic location, ideally situated for everything. Lovely hot tub and robes were a nice touch. Damp cottage so maybe some humidifiers would help. Heating however, warmed the place up lovely. Cosy, clean, warm and spacious. Comfortable beds, sofa, chairs. Disappointing welcome pack, 4 teacakes sell by day we arrived, several pots of UHT milk (nothing else). Weather was fabulous the week we visited and we spent lots of time on nearby beaches walking our dogs. Local village pub is dog friendly and we had a lovely meal there. Good location for exploring the area. The Drive down to the big house was useful for dog walk and a nice to have a secure garden. Traffic noise sometimes a nuisance but it was stated in the details so we expected it. Hot tub was a nice feature.

The cottage was ideal for touring South Ayrshire and only a 15 min drive from Dumfries House which is a must visit. The road is a busy shortcut across country but a high wall and fencing keeps the garden secure for pets. A pity that the landowner of the estate does not encourage visitors with appropriate signage but loads to visit all around

Good location for visiting places of interest and walking sections of the river Ayr pathway. Dean Castle, Kilmarnock, worth visiting for significant collection of musical instruments and armour. Dumfries House and grounds should not be missed. Plenty of interest for fans of Scotlands great poet, Robert Burns.
