This luxurious farmhouse makes the ideal rural retreat for friends, families and waggy-tailed pals looking to get away from it all in the breathtaking surroundings of Exmoor National Park. Surrounded by woodland and just 2 miles from the coast, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to walks to enjoy with the woofer. At the end of the day, fire up the pizza oven for a night of al fresco dining, or revive weary legs with a soak in your private hot tub.
The farmhouse is set down a 0.5-mile track in the heart of the forest. Enter via a porch, where you can store muddy boots and dog leads, and head into the warm and welcoming abode that’s bursting with original features, elegant furniture and luxurious accessories. The spacious kitchen/diner has everything you need to create delicious dishes for the group, as well as a table to comfortably seat everyone. Just off this room is the conservatory, which makes a great spot to set up the dog beds. The remainder of the house is a woof-free zone. In the lounge/diner, you’ll find a second table for dining, along with an array of comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a roaring wood burner. From the lounge, you’ll have direct access to your private indoor swimming pool and hot tub (this area also boasts changing and shower facilities). All three bedrooms are exquisitely decorated and can be found on the first floor. Completing this floor are two family bathrooms. Outside, a tranquil haven awaits in the three-tiered garden set along the river. You’ll find a patio area with furniture for al fresco dining, an outdoor pizza oven, and ample green space for the hounds to burn off steam.
The wild and rugged North Devon coast offers mile upon mile of tracks and trails to explore with your four-pawed walking companions. If you’re after spectacular views and wildlife-watching opportunities, head to the Hangman Hills above Combe Martin (10 miles). Alternatively, for a relaxing, waterside stroll, follow the river down to Heddon’s Mouth (2.5 miles), where you’ll find a remote, rocky cove that’s perfect for wild swimming or a quiet picnic on a summer’s afternoon. Further afield, enjoy day trips to the seaside resort of Woolacombe (18.5 miles) or the harbour town of Ilfracombe (16.5 miles).
