Escape with your other half and up to two canine companions to this idyllic retreat just outside a tranquil Peak District village. The one-storey brick and wood-clad property is detached, set in a private spot within the owner’s grounds. Inside, the gorgeous wood frame is on display giving it a rustic vibe. Furnishings and decor are modern and to the highest standard for that little touch of luxury. Pat yourself (and your dogs) on the back for picking this one!
The practical entrance hallway is easily large enough for two to wrestle two dogs while wiping off those damp paws. There’s ample storage for towels, coats and boots too. The open-plan kitchen and lounge is a large space with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The lounge area has a statement wood burner and large comfortable sofa, while the kitchen is modern, well-equipped and has both a table for two and breakfast bar with two stools. Fido will be happy on the floor as it’s tiled and wood so cool in summer. There’s a lovely garden room with more comfortable seating and floor-to-ceiling windows with garden views. The king-size bedroom is a really relaxing space with neutral decor and yet more beams. Outside there’s an enclosed furnished patio complete with BBQ for those al fresco feasts. Guests are welcome to explore the owner’s garden plus have use of a paddock for exercising hounds who have excess energy.
There are miles of footpaths from the village, so grab those leads before setting out with man’s best friend. Be transported back in time at the Crich Tramway Village (4 miles) which houses the National Tramway Museum where you can learn about trams and even ride on them – and that includes your furry friends too!
