A trip to this beautiful part of the Lake District National Park will set tails wagging with a whimsical walk at Ullswater (6 miles) offering a gentle route with plenty of spots to stop off for a picnic along the way. To see the spectacle of Aira Force Waterfall (12 miles), head off on the 3-mile Aira Force and Gowbarrow Trail which takes you through ancient woodlands and historic farms before arriving at the summit to see the expansive views.
