Escape to this Grade II-listed home in Arundel for a relaxing break exploring coast and countryside. There’s a doggie-friendly pub within 300m of your front door as well as independent shops and galleries to discover. With space for four humans and one canine friend, this cottage would suit a couple or a small family looking to enjoy some quality time together with their pet very much part of the fun.

This period building boasts a gorgeous facade of brick and pebble, and mullion sash windows completing its traditional look. You’ll enter the property straight into an open-plan living area with comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and a wood burner for keeping you warm on chilly nights. There’s a table and chairs for relaxed holiday meals and a door leading out to the garden. Outside, your pet can roam free in the enclosed space while you admire impressive views of Arundel Cathedral. On sunny days, enjoy a leisurely lunch on the patio furniture as your dog finds a shady spot for a snooze. The two cosy bedrooms are accessed via a staircase from the living room; both are beautifully decorated with lovely ceiling beams and tasteful furniture.

Perched on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Arundel gives you excellent access to doggie-pleasing walks over rolling hills and alongside the fast-flowing Arun River. Head north to Amberley (5 miles), a village famous for its thatched cottages, or climb up to Bignor Hill (5 miles) for a more challenging walk that’ll reward you with fantastic views. If the dog’s hounding you for a beach trip, Climping (3 miles) is a great option for letting off some steam.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1  day bed with a trundle bed
  • 1bathroom with a handheld shower over the bath, separate walk-in shower, and WC
  • Electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine
  • Travel cot (bedding not included), highchair and stair gates available on request
  • Smart TV in the lounge
  • Wood burner in lounge (first basket of logs provided)
  • Please note the staircases are steep but do have a handrail

  • Beach 4 miles, shop pub and restaurant within 1 mile
  • Please note that the property is located in a narrow cul-de-sac, which can make parking and turning round your vehicle difficult.  We would therefore advise that parking outside the cottage is only suitable for a standard sized car, there is additional parking in the surrounding streets.

Great location for visitors to Arundel. The cottage had everything we needed, was clean and being at the end of a cul-de-sac, quiet. The stairs are narrow and steep so could be a problem for people with mobility issues. Parking a car close to the property can be awkward.

We had such a fantastic week at Cathedral View. The cottage made an ideal base for us as we attended a nearby festival, we also enjoyed exploring Brighton, Worthing and Chichester. The sun-trap courtyard was enjoyed by all and being able to walk into town and enjoy Arundel was a real plus - the castle is a must visit. Parking was not an issue for uRead mores - we had two cars and were able to park on surrounding streets with no problem, even though it was May half term. Would return in a heartbeat! Hide

Cathedral View is such a lovely cottage - incredibly well-equipped, everything has been thought of for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Its located within easy walking distance of the town centre with many pubs, cafes, interesting independent shops and, of course, the immense Castle. Also, the railway station (to the coast, to Chichester and also dRead moreirect to London) is just 20 minutes walk, so we didnt use our car all week! Breakfast in the sunny garden with the view of the cathedral was great. Hide

Lovely cottage - really clean and really comfortable and has everything you would need for a stay away from home. The location is really central so meant we didn't use the car all weekend which was an added bonus. I'd really recommend for a stay in Arundel.

Really great location, cosy and well equipped. Perfect for a weekend getaway if you want the town or some country walks. Only major gripe would be there is parking right outside, but we didn't realise the road is extremely narrow, and our heavily pregnant group member had to park further out and negotiate the hills more than expected to get to the Read moreproperty. Otherwise, would definitely book again! Hide
