Six humans and up to two canine guests will land in the lap of luxury at this three-bed converted hay barn set in a remote spot on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border. It makes a great base for a larger family or group keen on exploring the Great Outdoors in tandem with their four-legged companions. You can really de-stress in the private hot tub – it’s under a canopy so rain won’t matter, but that’s one treat the dogs will have to miss!
Converted in 2022, and part of a complex, this spacious barn offers rustic touches like exposed stone walls, along with a super modern, thoughtful and comfortable open-plan living space. Keep dog towels for mucky pups, boots and coats in the practical utility room in case of rain or mud. Downstairs, a sumptuous corner sofa unit beckons in the living area, which is in front of the wonderfully well-equipped, hand-crafted kitchen complete with island/breakfast bar. The dining area seats six easily by double doors out onto the patio area. The layout is clever with all four areas feeling both connected and intimate. The bespoke wooden feature staircase runs double height up through the living area to the three bedrooms, each individually decorated with quirky touches. Outside, drink in the rolling countryside views from the large garden with its slightly sunken courtyard with comfortable furnishings.
For those keen on walkies with their faithful friends, there’s no shortage of tracks nearby for both walking and cycling. If variety is the spice of holiday life, then head to Pendle Hill 8 miles away to enjoy panoramic views from the top. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is just 11 miles or hug a tree on holiday (while your dog sniffs its roots) at the Forest of Bowland (12 miles).
