A stunning single-level apartment, this fantastic retreat is perfect for couples and smaller families seeking a peaceful getaway in a tranquil part of North Devon. Offering stylishly updated accommodation for four guests, the property has a big garden with plenty of space for a canine companion to run and play. Accessed via a flight of external steps, this spacious and relaxing ground-floor hideaway sits beneath the owner’s home and features an extensive veranda, a freestanding roll-top bath, a quirky mezzanine-style family bunk bed, elegantly furnished interiors and tasteful decor throughout.

The property has a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner providing a fantastic space for everyone to sit back, relax and chat about the day’s adventures. The lounge has a cosy corner sofa and Smart TV, perfect for watching a movie after enjoying a celebratory meal in the central dining area. The kitchen has a handy breakfast bar and all the equipment you will need during your stay. There’s also a stylish bathroom and two delightful bedrooms: one super-king-size, and a family bedroom with a double bed beneath a single bed accessed via a wooden mini-staircase. Outside, the fabulous wooden decked veranda-style space has a bamboo roof and an array of garden furniture and atmospheric lighting, making a fantastic spot to sit back with a drink and unwind. A couple of steps lead up onto the large lawn which has a fire pit and BBQ, and is perfect for children to play and for your pet dog to exercise.

Westward Ho! has some wonderful pet-friendly places to eat and drink, and a superb beach which welcomes dogs from October to April. Dogs are allowed throughout the year at the beautiful beaches of Peppercombe, Instow and Bucks Mills (all within 9 miles) and in the quaint and historic private village of Clovelly (12 miles).

We suggest you just go and enjoy! Don't bother looking any further! A great base from which to explore North Devon, which is dog-friendly and just about as close to a home-from-home as you will ever achieve; well-equipped, comfortable and homely. We stayed here in March 24 with our 2 year old daughter and cockerpoo. Lower stone is absolutely perfect, and has everything you could need for your stay! The location is ideal just off the main road giving you easy access to lots of the towns/villages in north Devon! The undercover area in the garden was the standout for us, when our daughter had Read moregone to bed it was the perfect place to retreat to for a bottle of wine and to chill out! A beautiful property with lovely hosts, which feels very much like a home from home rather than a holiday rental. A superb holiday apartment. Very spacious, comfortable, warm and clean. The perfect base to come home to at the end of a busy day exploring. Toni & Chris are so welcoming and approachable. Lovely little touches left as a way of getting you started. The garden is 100% secure for dogs with plenty of space. We would definitely return.

Lower Stone is beautiful! A true home from home with everything we could possibly need. The garden was fantastic for the dog & kids alike, with plenty of room for playing. The hammocks were a huge hit, along with the pretty lights in the evening & the lovely big firepit. The undercover area is amazing for sitting out no matter the weather! Fantastic property to stay in. Absolutely lovely both inside and outside. Enclosed large garden fantastic for the dog and us to chill. We took real advantage of the location to visit lots of places around Devon and Cornwall that were all in easy reach. Very lovely, comfortable property and great for a dog as has fully enclosed garden. Great veranda space which adds an additional room, even if the weather is not great. Beaches are lovely but suggest check tides and if visiting in peak season book ahead at restaurants as they book up quickly. Lovely family holiday for a week.

This is an amazing place to stay. Great location to visit other places like Appledore and Bideford. Instow beach is amazing for a dog walk. The games left for entertainment were a great extra.

The accomodation was stunning! Toni and Chris have gone out of there way to make it feel like a home from home. Fantastic break in a lovely apartment - comfortable and quiet. Brilliant position for all the attractions as well as doing nothing. We had great walk to Appledore and round Stoke. We had a wonderful 4 nights stay at Lower Stone. Toni and Chris were fantastic hosts, the place was immaculate and had everything we needed. Wonderful week with great accommodation. The property was beautiful, and looked even better in real life than on the website! You could tell how much love and effort had gone in to setting it up. The kids loved their bedroom and wanted to bring it home with them. Lovely tasteful artwork, great facilities. Beautiful property, large gardens for the pets to roam and feel at home and the owners are so friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a lovely place close to beaches and stunning coastline walks but also connected enough to all local amenities, I challenge you to do better. A++ Recommended
