Once home to the Bronte sisters, this beautiful, historic town is a literary mecca and attracts visitors from all around the world. Having retained much of its old-world charm, it is a wonderful place to visit – especially with beloved hounds in tow – largely due to the abundance of dog-friendly countryside pubs and scenic walks you can all embark on. The cottage itself is picture perfect, dating back to the 1600s, the owners have retained its characterful features, mixed in with contemporary luxury touches; it’s an ideal base for families and groups of up to six people and two bow-wows.
Bursting with charm, step inside to the gorgeous lounge with exposed stonework and restored wooden beams, the owners have curated a sumptuous space with an airy palette, three comfortable sofas and local artwork adorning the walls, all centred around a large wood burner…where sleeping dogs are sure to lie! The kitchen traditional-style country kitchen is modern and boasts all you need to cook up hearty meals after time spent in the inspiring surrounding countryside; from here, a few steps lead down to the cellar which also doubles up as a utility room – a handy place to store coasts, shoes and dog accessories. Head upstairs to three well-appointed bedrooms, all featuring vaulted ceilings and all decorated beautifully, the first of which is a king size bedroom which offers spectacular views. Follow the corridor down to a family bathroom and two further bedrooms, a double and a twin room. To enjoy the outside space, head back downstairs to the lounge, where patio doors will lead you into the delightful cottage garden. There’s a paved terrace area with seating and a BBQ for warmer evenings or in cooler months, armed with a hot chocolate and a picnic blanket, sit back and take in the breathtaking countryside views whilst your dogs frolic across the lawn.

Located between the Peak District National Park (30 miles) and Yorkshire Dales National Park (16 miles) it’s a haven for walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts.
