Surrounded by countryside and overlooking a river sits this beautiful 12th-century castle, with the Solway Coast just 5 miles away. Gather 10 family members or friends and two waggy-tailed pals and enjoy a unique holiday getaway.
Packed with period features and historic charm, this castle has plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. Step back in time as you pad through the hallway and up the solid wood staircase to the first-floor drawing room. Complete with an open fire, antique furnishings, and wood-panelled walls, it’s a grand space. A stone staircase spirals up to a family bathroom and king-size four-poster bedroom. Thick tapestry curtains and enchanting views add to the sense of splendour. A spiral staircase leads up further to an impressive double four-poster bedroom while on the top floor there’s a cosy double bedroom. Adjoining the castle but accessed externally you’ll find two stylishly decorated king-size bedrooms. Each room boasts an en-suite bathroom. Across the courtyard, a separate building houses the kitchen. Cook hearty meals on the Aga and then dine in regal style in the huge banquet hall. Outside, there is so much space you and your canine pals won’t know where to explore first. They can sniff out new scents on the lawns, and together you can discover the sunken gardens and riverside walks. Humans can unwind in the hot tub and dine in the courtyard under the stars.
