The reverse-level house is set over two storeys, and you and your excited pup will enter via the stable door and head straight up to the first floor and the open-plan living space. Boasting beautiful views, this room has an apex ceiling with rustic beams and a wooden floor. The kitchen is tucked in one corner, the dining table is adjacent, and comfortable seating arranged around an ornamental fireplace takes up the rest of the room. At bedtime, let your canine companion get cosy for the night and head downstairs, where you’ll find two bedrooms, a super-king-size (twin on request), a compact double and a family bathroom. There’s an area outside with picnic benches and a children’s play area, and you can also use the shared games barn which is equipped with table tennis, pool and air hockey.
This lovely getaway is one of a collection of retreats on the owner’s organic farm, less than 1 mile from the village of Dyffryn Ardudwy, where there’s a shop, cafe and railway station – part of the scenic Cambrian line. Dyffryn Beach, which stretches for miles and has a section for naturists, is dog friendly all year. Head to Barmouth for a day out, where there are welcoming places to eat, a golden beach, and an excellent hike along the Mawddach Trail, taking you 9 miles to the historic town of Dolgellau.
