Nestled in an idyllic rural setting just outside the village of Parkham, this delightful barn conversion offers countryside walks galore while being conveniently close to the North Devon coast. Set in the grounds of the owner’s property with your own private garden, it’s the perfect couples’ bolthole – and your faithful four-legged companion is welcome too!
Accessed via external steps, this first-floor stone cottage is laid out over a single level. Inside it’s cosy and welcoming. Cuddle up on the sofa in the light and bright lounge, gazing out at the beautiful countryside, or huddle up in winter in front of the warming wood burner with your contented pup and a film on the Smart TV. After a restful night in your king-size bed, prepare breakfast in the compact kitchen and dine on the balcony, gazing over the valley. In the evenings, enjoy a meal or drink alfresco on the bistro table in the courtyard watching the stars appear overhead, while your canine companion snoozes at your feet.
The village of Parkham is just a mile away, where you can shop for basics and enjoy a meal in the dog-friendly pub. Breathe in the fresh, salty air at Bucks Mills beach (3 miles) and take your pup on an adventure through the woodland to a beautiful waterfall. Further along the coast is the picturesque harbour village of Clovelly (6.5 miles), where you can explore the traffic-free cobbled streets and frolic on the beach with your faithful friend in tow. If you love to feel the sand between your toes ¬– and paws! – head to Westward Ho! (7 miles) where dogs are welcome on the long sandy beach (with a few summer restrictions) to join you as you swim, surf and explore rock pools.
