Nestled in the sleepy hamlet of Colworth in a peaceful spot in the owner’s private grounds, you’ll be barking mad if you don’t fall head over heels for this idyllic bolthole that’s the ultimate romantic couple’s retreat. Find plenty of stick-throwing opportunities along the plethora of footpaths from the doorstep with your four-legged third wheel.

Wipe off mucky paws in the hallway before leading the way into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The neutral colour palette and homely touches give the space a true warmth which beckons you to hunker down on the comfy sofa and tired pups to curl up in their special blanket at your feet. Catch the latest blockbuster on the Smart TV before rustling up tasty treats and filling up your dog’s water bowl in the stylish kitchen; enjoy your feast seated around the dining table as your pup snoozes. Head upstairs to sleep in the en-suite double bedroom that ensures a dreamy rest before tomorrow’s walkies. Outside, playful pups can roam to their heart’s content on the enclosed lawned garden as you enjoy a glass of something chilled on the deckchairs.

There are plenty of scenic footpaths carving their way through the Sussex countryside, beginning from the doorstep to discover with your four-pawed pal. Those with a nose for nature will have a ball exploring the RSPB Pagham Nature Reserve, 5 miles away. Leave no stick unfetched by treating your pup to an afternoon bounding through the dune landscape of the sandy West Witterings Beach, 11 miles away, which boasts tail-wagging views across to the Isle of Wight. Take the lead to Chichester, 4 miles away, to meander around the quaint cobbled streets with your canine companion to sniff out the best local treats.

Very modern and clean. Easy instructions for all appliances. Good location. Only downside was the sloping bedroom ceiling - not designed for us 'oldies'.

A clean and ample accommodation for us 2 and the dog. Plenty to see and do within a reasonable distance. All pluses and the lack of bedroom headspace is annoying but shouldn't shouldn't become the only talking point. Great break despite pretty average summer weather.

Its a beautifully presented cottage however for those that are taller than 4 and a fag end the slopping roof is a bit hazardous (and yes it does say its got a sloping roof in the intro)but that said I would go back again and again.

We loved our stay at Dandydills. The location was lovely and the garden secure for our dog to run around in. The cottage was really lovely and it is a nice quiet location with easy access to places we wanted to visit. We would love to revisit some time.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was very clean, warm and cosy. The perfect place to stay for a break away. The garden was fully enclosed and great for our little dog to have a little run around in. We would definitely come back!

A lovely cottage, small but immaculately clean. Well situated between the coast and the south downs just off the A259. Just up the lane, turning right out from the cottage, you can access a walk past the fruit tunnels along what used to be a canal path although the canal is long gone. Perfect for walking the dog.
