Set in a charming spot just metres from a beautiful dog-friendly beach, this traditional stone-built cottage offers cosy accommodation for six guests, with plenty of space for a canine pal to come along too. Offering lovely sea views, this inviting property makes a fantastic holiday retreat for families and friends, and features a roaring open fire, wooden beams and exposed brickwork. The cottage dates back 150 years and has been sympathetically updated and tastefully decorated to make an ideal base for keen walkers, cyclists and nature lovers exploring the Carmarthenshire countryside.
Stepping inside this delightful cottage, you will find the welcoming lounge, with a Smart TV, plenty of seating and a characterful exposed stone wall. Exploring further, there’s a handsome dining room and a spacious kitchen. The ground floor also has a shower room and a separate WC. Heading upstairs, you will find three light and relaxing bedrooms: there are two double rooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and both offering partial sea views. There’s also a cosy twin room overlooking the garden, alongside a refreshing family bathroom. To the rear, a small, enclosed back garden accessed via a steep slope, has a raised patio area and outdoor furniture.
The historic village of Ferryside makes a great base for exploring Carmarthenshire, with a railway station providing links to Swansea (25 miles) and Carmarthen (10 miles). The cottage is just 150 metres from a sandy, dog-friendly beach, or you can take a ferry across the River Towy to visit Llansteffan where your pets are welcome to help you explore the remains of Llansteffan Castle. Heading along the coast for 2 miles, you will reach the beach of St Ishmael, the site of a long-lost village. Dogs are also welcome at the popular National Botanic Garden of Wales (15 miles) on certain days across the year.
