Beautiful spacious refurbished 1900 century lodge set on the Dunnet Estate with spectacular coastal views, perfect for families and friends holidays and celebrate special occasions together.

Opt for this nine-bed refurbished lodge to holiday with extended family or friends in real style with up to three dogs in the mix. Set amid 1,800 acres of moorland on a Highland estate, this property is just 1.5 miles from the sandy swathe of Dunnet Beach, less than 1 mile to St John’s Loch and has direct access to the owner’s beach within 1 mile, all at the northerly point of mainland Scotland. In terms of indoor fun, there’s even a games room and cinema room for relaxing with your fellow holidaymakers.

Luxury and space abound in this grand property that still manages to feel welcoming, family friendly and homely. There’s ample space for canine companions so they won’t get under your feet (although they probably still will!). The striking off-white facade even includes a turret for added magic. The light-filled drawing room is comfortable and spacious with an open fire, while the rather imposing dining room has two tables to seat the maximum number of guests. There’s a smaller table in the modern fitted kitchen for more informal dining occasions. All of these rooms are practical for furry friends, with floorboards or stone floors so you can let sleeping dogs lie without worrying about the carpet! A catering kitchen can help deal with bigger functions, cooking for up to 20 guests. There’s also a library and the snug cinema/TV room, so time out should be no problem. Upstairs, nine individually decorated bedrooms and eight bathrooms await. Many rooms have zip-and-link beds which means the bedrooms can be configured as king or super-king-size or as twins for the utmost versatility for your group. Slipper baths, a four-poster, quaint attic ceilings with exposed rafters and Velux windows, deluxe, walk-in showers and antique furniture all feature so it might be fairest to draw straws to see who sleeps where. Outside, soak up the wonderful sea views all around then relax by the water feature in the walled courtyard, complete with fire pit.

You can take the lead in exploring the estate, its moorland and cliff paths or head straight for the beach. Wildlife and birdlife abound and you’re sure to be inspired by the local scenery. However, if you need more, try activities on offer locally from horse riding to surfing.
