You’re sure to have a wonderful holiday at this remote property with breathtaking views in the Highlands of Scotland. With seven bedrooms, it makes a fabulous holiday base for a group of friends or extended family – and naturally that includes man’s best friends. Take the lead and head outdoors into the beautiful wilderness of the Great Glen, whether that’s for hiking or cycling amid the inspiring scenery. Or let Fido sniff out the River Lochy across the field and walk along its banks looking for salmon. After a long day, let sleeping dogs lie under the large dining table as you discuss the day before cosying up by the wood burner.

There’s plenty of room for two- and four-legged holiday companions in the striking open-plan living accommodation. The contemporary kitchen fulfils all self-catering needs, with a sizeable table to eat at and stacks of comfortable seating arranged around the wood burner. The feature floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outside in, so both you and your furry friend can sit and dream while looking out towards the hills! This space also boasts practical hard flooring with rugs, an ideal spot for those cosy dog beds. Outside, the large garden is not enclosed, so dogs inclined to roaming should be kept under close control, preferably on a lead!

Set tails wagging exploring the shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants of Fort William (8 miles) – many are happy to take dogs. Quaint Spean Bridge with its commando memorial is just 2.5 miles away. Both of these places have a choice of vets for peace of mind. If you plan on climbing Ben Nevis, make sure there’s someone to take care of your canine companion as the terrain can be hard. Instead, they might enjoy wandering the countryside close to the property.

  • 7 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 5 twins and 1 single
  • 5 bathrooms – 2 shower rooms with WCs, 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC, and 2 en-suite bathrooms with baths, handheld showers and WCs
  • Electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave
  • Wood burner (owner will direct where to buy logs from)
  • Smart TV in lounge
  • Large garden with seating and charcoal BBQ
  • Ample off-road parking available
  • Shop, restaurant and pub 8 miles
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £500 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £60. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Our family of 10 adults, 2 children and a baby had a wonderful stay. The large open plan living space was great for socialising together with a very well equipped kitchen. There is also a wonderful big porch for dumping bags, coats and shoes. The cottage is 20 minutes from Fort William and is conveniently close to places of interest such as Ben NevRead moreis, Steall Waterfalls and Glen Coe. The sleeping areas are basic with twin beds in most rooms and not much space for clothes. But still a great place! Hide

For 8 family members on a long weekend for Remembrance Sunday, this was a fantastic venue. We were visiting Ben Nevis, Spean Bridge, Fort Wiliam, Glenfinnan Viaduct and the Commando Memorial. The house had everything we needed, it was cosy (once we got logs and matches) and instant hot water for showers after a day in the hills. Everybody loved it.Read more Only slight downside for us was having to drive, but it certainly did not detract from our stay. Definite home from home. Would return and commend. Hide

Our group of 10 included Munro baggers who were out on the mountains all day, others who were happy to be out walking some of the day and some who were happy to relax at the cottage. Ivy Cottage was the perfect setting for all of us. Dining out was never going to be easy for a group of 10 so we planned to do at home dinners. The facilities at Ivy CRead moreottage with its two cookers and plenty of crockery etc were ideal. There are some great eating places nearby but will need advance planning. Hide

A super location at the end of the lane. Very peaceful with only very occasional fishing traffic passing by. Stunning views in all directions. Even washing up is a pleasure! Well looked after and clean property, would recommend to anyone looking to get away from it all.
